A detective notes in the incident report released by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Orlando that Medical Examiner Joshua Stephany indicated the fractures “would have startled Mr. Saget” and caused dizziness.
People would have noticed if he had been among them at the time “Confusion, balance, and/or slurred speech,” according to the investigation.
It does not specify the location of Saget’s fall.

After an examination in January, the medical examiner ruled that Saget died as a result of an unintentional blow to the head, most likely from a backward fall.
Investigators who were called to Saget’s luxurious hotel suite found no indication of a struggle, foul play, or indicators that anybody else had been in the suite during his stay.
A toxicology examination revealed no illegal drugs or poisons in Saget’s body. According to the investigation, there was no evidence of blood on the hotel bed’s sheets or bedspread.

Saget’s body was examined at the hotel suite and found to have mild edema and little bruising in the corner of his left eye.”There were no other indicators of any form of trauma or injury,” according to the study.

On Jan. 9, a hotel security officer discovered the 65-year-old entertainer on his hotel bed at the Ritz Carlton in Orlando after he forgot to check out of the hotel and his family requested a well-being check.

The door of Saget’s suite had been latched from the inside, so a hotel maintenance person had to be summoned to open it.
Despite the fact that the door between Saget’s suite and the neighboring room was determined to be open, data on the hotel’s electronic locks revealed that no one had been in the adjoining room since Jan. 7, two days before Saget’s body was discovered, according to the report.

Saget was married to Kelly Rizzo Saget and had three daughters from a previous marriage. He was best known for his roles as adored single dad Danny Tanner on the sitcom “Full House” and as the wisecracking presenter of “America’s Funniest Home Videos.”

Saget was on tour with his “I Don’t Do Negative Comedy Tour” at the time of his death, and he indicated soon before his death that he had received enthusiastic crowd receptions in Orlando and the Ponte Vedra Beach resort region.

On Monday, a Florida judge decided to make a temporary injunction prohibiting the release of images, video, or any other data relevant to the inquiry into Saget’s death permanent. Saget’s family had launched a lawsuit in order to obtain the decree.

Jussie Smollett to be sentenced for staged attack https://localnewsalerts.com/jussie-smollett-to-be-sentenced-for-staged-attack/ https://localnewsalerts.com/jussie-smollett-to-be-sentenced-for-staged-attack/#respond Thu, 10 Mar 2022 17:55:21 +0000 https://localnewsalerts.com/?p=144 On Thursday, actor Jussie Smollett will learn whether a judge will sentence him to prison for lying to police about a racial and homophobic attack that he staged or will let him go free.

Smollett, who is anticipated to continue to deny his role in January 2019 staged attack, faces up to three years in prison for each of the five felony counts of disorderly conduct – the charge filed for lying to police – for which he was convicted. On a sixth count, he was acquitted.

However, because Smollett has no previous criminal history and the conviction is for a low-level nonviolent crime, experts do not believe he will be imprisoned. The actor might be sentenced to up to a year in county jail, or he could be placed on probation and compelled to conduct community service if Cook County Judge James Linn so chooses.

Before sentencing, Smollett’s lead attorney has stated that he will petition the judge to dismiss the charges. However, such motions are rarely granted by judges. This could be the concluding chapter in a criminal case that grabbed international news after Smollett, who is Black and homosexual, reported to police that two men wearing ski masks assaulted him and yelled racial and homophobic slurs at him on a dark Chicago street before fleeing.

Smollett was convicted in December after a trial that included the testimony of two brothers who testified that Smollett paid them to carry out the attack, gave them money for the ski masks and rope, and instructed them to shape the rope into a noose.

Prosecutors said he informed them what racial and homophobic obscenities to say, as well as that Smollett was in “MAGA Country,” a reference to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign slogan.

Smollett, who knew the men from his work on the Chicago-based television show “Empire,” testified that he didn’t recognize them and had no idea they were the men who attacked him. During the hearing, prosecutors and Smollett’s attorneys will present witnesses and Smollett will be able to make a statement.

He could repeat parts of what he told jurors during the trial about how he was just a victim of a brutal crime. As he informed jurors, Smollett might potentially tell the judge about his extended history of volunteering and donating to charity organizations.

And he could argue that the fact that the case has ruined his career is enough punishment to keep him out of jail.
