U.S. Sen. Ashley Moody speaks during a public event as a super PAC supporting her 2026 Senate campaign reports nearly $11 million in fundraising.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A super PAC supporting U.S. Sen. Ashley Moody has amassed nearly $11 million for the 2026 election after receiving a $2.5 million contribution from billionaire Citadel founder Ken Griffin, underscoring the financial strength Republicans are building ahead of one of the nation’s most closely watched Senate races.

New federal campaign finance filings show Stronger Safer Nation, an independent expenditure committee supporting Moody, raised more than $3.3 million during the second quarter, bringing its total fundraising since its launch in March 2025 to nearly $11.7 million. After spending roughly $822,000, the committee reported nearly $11 million cash on hand heading into the fall campaign.

Griffin, one of the Republican Party’s largest donors and founder of the Miami-based hedge fund Citadel, accounted for the committee’s largest contribution during the reporting period with a $2.5 million donation. Griffin has been a major financial supporter of Republican candidates nationally and has previously backed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and other GOP campaigns.

Other major Florida-based donors included homebuilder Mori Hosseini, who contributed $100,000. Hosseini, a longtime Republican donor, serves as chairman of the University of Florida Board of Trustees, where Moody earned her law degree.

Additional contributions came from several prominent businesses and Republican donors, including:

  • U.S. Sugar — $100,000
  • GL Homes — $50,000
  • ABC Fine Wine & Spirits — $20,000
  • Majority Committee PAC, affiliated with former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy — $25,000
  • Republican donor Marjorie Buckley — $250,000

Outside spending expected to shape Senate race

Because federal law prohibits super PACs from coordinating directly with candidates, Stronger Safer Nation operates independently from Moody’s official campaign.

Still, the committee is expected to play a major role in television advertising, digital outreach and voter communications supporting Moody while criticizing her eventual Democratic opponent during the general election.

The organization has retained several Republican strategists with close ties to President Donald Trump’s political orbit, including pollster Tony Fabrizio and veteran campaign adviser Chris LaCivita, both of whom have worked on high-profile national Republican campaigns.

Moody prepares for first Senate election

Moody, who was appointed to the U.S. Senate by Gov. Ron DeSantis after Marco Rubio became U.S. Secretary of State, is seeking her first statewide election to the seat.

She faces little opposition in the Republican primary, allowing her campaign and allied outside groups to conserve resources for November.

Democrats are expected to nominate Alex Vindman, making Florida’s Senate race one of several nationally watched contests that could influence control of the U.S. Senate.

The latest fundraising numbers suggest Republican allies are already assembling significant financial resources months before the general election campaign fully begins.
